6 Highlights from April

1. Easter egg hunts Since we are in the Southern Hemisphere, the Spring celebration of Ostara falls in the Fall. It's odd, having the traditional spring easter-egg-hunt while the weather is turning colder, but it was till fun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDU_Qt6dN5E We plan on celebrating half-holidays, so we will celebrate Easter 2 2019 in the springtime. Stay tuned! 2. Life milestone: We put away the juicer. For months, a masticating juicer has been on the kitchen countertop, because raw cabbage juice was [...]

Time changes

It is April in New Zealand, and we 'fall back' with our clocks this season. This used to be a cause for celebration, getting an extra hour of sleep, but now I have to mentally readjust my distance from the Northern Hemisphere for the 3rd time (so far) this year. Working while weary

I'm working hard, and it's hard on me. When I’m working from home, I’ve found it helps me get more productive to change out of my pajama pants, and into pants with pockets and a belt. This year, we also had family move to New Zealand with us! On my very birthday, they landed at the Wellington airport to join us in our new home. The Huntress Clan is growing in New Zealand Taos had a birthday - he's 7. Accomplishments This [...]

The Queen of Wands

This year, for my birthday I have drawn a card of happiness, satisfaction, and fertility. The Queen of Wands is a card that could signify a plan to accomplish a large amount of work in a small period of time, a balance of the shadow and the light parts of ourselves, or a helpful, supportive person in the querent's life. Every year, when I draw a tarot card on my birthday (see previous years here) I am always surprised by [...]

New Years Resolutions 2019

"There is nothing magical about the flip of a calendar," says Jason Soroski, "but it represents a clean break, a new hope, and a blank canvas." Making New Year's Resolutions presents us with an opportunity to reboot our lives, and reset our habits. I typically keep less than half the resolutions I make every year, because I firmly believe that breaking New Year's Resolutions is good for you. You can read my last few sets  of resolutions here. This [...]
