On summer solstice it rained. I wore a jacket. The longest day of the year, and the weather was such that it made it difficult to free run through my city.
My city. Portland. A place where parkour is suddenly a seasonal sport.
I cannot traverse the cityscape when its railings are wet. My shoes do not have a grip on the slickness that once enamored me to this city.
Have I grown beyond it? Is it time for a change? Or will I become a snowbird, leaving for the rainy months for somewhere more temperate, where I can work in careers of film and abundance not available to me here?
I like the idea of traveling during the winter months. Finding new cityscapes to traverse. And then in the summer, coming back to the home I call Portland.
