I’m willing to share my secrets. With you.

I DID IT.

If you’ve been following my exploits lately, you know that my life is incredible right now.

After lots of consideration, I’ve decided to stop feeling guilty for the amazing life I lead.

When I look back on where I have been, over the past few years, I am shocked at the magnitude of improvement I have had in my life.

Sharing the daily aspects of my tropical lifestyle have made me feel – almost – ashamed, like I wonder, “what did I do to deserve all this?

Well, I know exactly what I did.

And I want to share it with you.

As you might know, I was really into the Law of Attraction for a while. I delved into personal development, studying all of the great masters. Fro Ziglar to Covey, from Gitomer to Rohn, every big name and book in personal development and manifestation was my teacher for a time. I diligently practiced the exercises, some of which were helpful, and some which didn’t work, for reasons I didn’t understand at the time.

Then, about a year ago, everything clicked.

I took control of my mind.

And when I changed my mind,

it changed my life.

It took a specific series of steps, of thoughts and exercises, to fully make this shift. When it did, everything got easier in my life, and now, I live in Costa Rica doing work that I love, with an amazing family and more wealth, both spiritual and financial, than I have ever had before.

This formula is replicatable. These exercises, you can do them too.

As an example, I developed a simple MP3 of my own voice, saying affirmations that were important to me, over music that resonated with me personally. I used free internet tools to make this mp3, which I listen to as I exercise, as I drive, and as I sleep.

Combined with a few other specific exercises, I was able to fully leverage the power of my subconscious to manifest an Amazing Life.

The Birth of our Son.

10 Jan

Taos Gibson MacTavish Huntress.

Born on January 8, 2012 at 11:11 am.

7 lbs, 7 ounces, 20 inches long.

Taos @ 6 hours old.

Taos was born at home, in an unassisted waterbirth. Johanna began having contractions on my birthday, Saturday night, around 10 pm. After five hours, the contractions stopped completely, so we slept for a few hours. In the early morning, they began again, growing in intensity but decreasing in frequency. The pace of the contractions became wildly irregular, from 6-10 minutes apart, when Johanna got in the bathtub. This was traditionally the simple method, during all of her pregnancies, to slow contractions and take a break.

Then, her water broke, and three contractions later, the baby was born in the warm water.

I had the privilege of playing midwife, lifting my son out of the water and placing him onto his mothers breast, where he has remained for most of the time since that moment. He is a champion nurser.

He has big, dark eyes, pools of deep blue so dark that we think they will change to brown in a few months. He doesn’t cry very much, but regards the world curiously and calmly. When trying to get his digestive system in working order (a new experience for all babies) he clenches his fists and his face, letting out a long growl that sounds like he is wrestling a bear.

Johanna is well, in good spirits, with no complications. We have seen the doctor, filed for his birth certificate, and begun the process to file for dual citizenship.

Our Costa Rican adventure has reached its culmination: our son is here.

You can help.

If you’ve got a candle handy, go get it.

Light the wick. Offer a moment of prayer for a speedy and healthy birth.

Fortunate Man.

This year, I find my fortune.

The birthday is a perfect time to reassess your life, look back on what you have accomplished, and look ahead at where you are going.

To aid in my planning, I draw a Tarot card every year, to help me navigate the road ahead. This year, I drew the Ten of Trumps, Fortune.

(A nice card to draw, for obvious reasons.)

Last year, I brought together opposites, in the Year of Art. I combined the disparate passions and skills into a unified entity, and created a business that allows my artistic side and my intelligence equal say in my craft.

The year before, I went on an adventure, as the Fool.

This year, I am culminating my vision, my audacity, my skills, and my business, to create my fortune.

In many ways, I am relieved. I am so fortunate already; looking back on everything that has happened to me in the past two years, I have transformed my life into something beyond amazing. I live in tropical paradise, on a mountaintop in the jungle. My family is healthy and happy. I am supporting everyone doing work that I love.

Life is good. Very good.

I attribute this change wholeheartedly to the change in my mindset.

Through a systematic study of the great masters of positive thinking and the Law of Attraction, I went from working in a job I hated in the rainiest city in the country to doing work that I love in the tropics. This was not accidental; it was through diligent work on myself internally.

I have accumulated a wealth of exercises that helped me get to this place; I am considering transcribing my formula for others to use.
